Kangole Girls Secondary School in Napak District has emerged as the best-performing school in the Karamoja sub-region in the 2025 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results. The school plans a celebration to honor its top achievers.

Kangole Girls Secondary School in Napak District is celebrating after emerging as the top-performing school in the Karamoja sub-region in the recently released Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results.

School management announced plans to organise a celebratory event for the students, with top performers receiving special gifts in recognition of their achievements.

Boniface Awany, Dean of Students at Kangole Girls, attributed the success to discipline, hard work, and dedication from both students and teachers.

“We are very pleased with the results that saw us emerge as the top school in the region. Throwing a party for the students is a way to allow them to relax and enjoy as they celebrate their success,” Awany said.

He added that the rewards are intended to motivate excellence and inspire other students.

According to the results, Kangole Girls recorded 30 students in Grade A, 499 in Grade B, 772 in Grade C, and 22 in Grade D, with no student scoring Grade E.

Karenga District’s Jubilee 2000 Secondary School came second in the region, with 7 students achieving Grade A, 187 in Grade B, 1,191 in Grade C, 134 in Grade D, and 2 in Grade E.

St Mary’s Seminary Nadiket in Moroto ranked third, with 6 students in Grade A, 126 in Grade B, 164 in Grade C, 1 in Grade D, and none in Grade E.

Despite these successes, the Karamoja sub-region remains among the lowest-performing regions nationally.

Nadunget Secondary School was among the poorest performers, with 106 of its 873 candidates scoring Grade E and no students achieving Grade A.

At the district level, Amudat and Nakapiripirit were the lowest-performing districts, with no students obtaining Grade A.

Education stakeholders in Karamoja note that while the achievements of Kangole Girls and a few other schools are encouraging, significant investment and targeted interventions are needed to raise overall academic standards in the region.
